The members of a San Diego Wednesday night women's mah jongg club are five survivors of a Nazi concentration camp. They recognise the owner of a local restaurant, Walter Grossman, as a doctor from the camp who performed experiments on them as young girls. But to their horror, they learn that he has already been tried as a war criminal and has served only a few years for his crimes. So they decide that they will 'execute' him; drawing lots to determine which one will perform the act, without letting the others know who it is...

5 female friends in 1970, all survivors of the Nazi death camps, are shocked to learn that the man whose horrific experiments left them all unable to have children is alive and well and living a good life in California. Advising the authorities, they learn that he has been tried, sentenced and paid his debt to society for his crimes in WW2 and that no further action can be taken against him.

Unable to bear the thought of this man living amongst them, 4 of the women form a pact to execute him. They draw lots, with the executioners identity unknown to the others in the group. One woman declines to become involved.

When the former Nazi is found dead the women conspire to each confess to the crime, signing statements detailing how the killing was carried out but the District Attorney is determined to find out who the killer is and bring her to justice.

With Loretta Swit (M*A*S*H) leading the cast this is a well made, thought provoking TV film which would make an excellent stage play.

Great movie, but.... 25 Feb. 2009
By Susan K. Nicholson - Published on Amazon.com

This is a very good movie, good acting, great message. It is an
important reminder about the holocaust that we can never, and should never
forget. The picture isn't very good at all and made me wonder if I got
a pirated copy. Four women who survived the holocaust, and discover a
Nazi war criminal running a restaurant in Los Angeles. They devise a plan
to take him out. Great movie, should be reprinted with quality!

Worth Watching 4 Jun. 2006
By Stan Heck - Published on Amazon.com
Format: DVD
Far from perfect but far from being a bomb too. This is a subject matter that only HBO or Showtime would do today. This is a story of a group of women who have survived the German Death Camps. Its now the 1970's in Los Angeles and these women see the man who harmed them in the death camps. As a group they decide to kill him. An all-star cast makes it worth watching! This is a movie they could and should be re-made.
Not what I expected 15 May 2014

I thought that this would be a rather good movie, with excellent acting. There are some good actors in this film, but unfortunately, their performances were undone by the script, and direction. It started out as a good premise, but became a Lifetime-syle mess quickly. I sat through it because I bought it, but I will certainly never watch it again!
