Beautiful CD but of course you know that the climax is the gorgeous ' Everlasting Love. Yes this album includes the heart felt love song. Everlasting love could not possibly be covered and be as good as love affairs version. No one can beat the original and in this case the statement is most definately true. You need to buy the Cd to see the one of the best examples of sweet love of the 20th Centuary

A Day Without Love, A Masterpiece you will love. 13 Jan 2003
By Brian Keogh - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Audio CD
A flashback from the 60's featuring an almost forgotten English band, whose classics appear on this CD. Beautiful orchestral pop songs like Everlasting Love & the album's best track, A Day Without Love stand out as their two #1 singles. Then Rainbow Valley & the almost haunting 60 Seconds add variety, as well as their covers of Tobacco Road, Handbags, The First Cut, etc are as good as you'll ever hear. Memories & great classic pop are all found here on this excellent masterpiece.

Here We Go Again About Owning Vinyls. 2 April 2009
By Joseph Eastlack - Published on Amazon.com

Yeah, you guessed it, I own some vinyls by these guys as well. Two of the original vinyl singles I own are on the old Date label(A division of CBS).Everlasting Love and Rainbow Valley both have picture sleeves to boot.I also have a few of their original vinyl import singles on CBS. So, as you can see, I have done a lot more than just homework in my reviews. It also helps to have been around that period of time because you can go back and say hey, I remember those guys. I'm not saying that anyone who has not been around does not know what they are saying, it's just that I have been listening to music for a really long time. I'd better get on with the review before I reveal my old age.No words can describe how I feel about this band, stupendous, colossal, magnificent are just mere beginnings.Yeah, they resemble the original Small Faces, but, a lot of groups sound like others. WHO CARES? THEY ARE GREAT! This is another great group worth more than just listening to. Get it, you will not regret it. Their other cd's are just as worthy. You can't go wrong!
THE GOOD TIMES 6 Dec 2001
By V.J. PILLAI - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Audio CD
There are so many good bands in this world, and LOVE AFFAIR is one of the unknown great bands. The lyrics are so meaningful, the music are so wonderful and many of their songs are great, never get tired or bored. One of the greatest songs is BRINING ON BACK THE GOOD TIMES sung by LOVE AFFAIR, and the good times wiii be always be remembered with the LOVE AFFAIR.

I was really looking forward to hearing this, I have always been quite fond of the title cut (although I consider the Robert Knight version definitive, and also prefer the Carl Carlton rendition... truth be told you just can't hardly make a bad version of that song.) I'm also a big fan of late sixties British pop bands, so this should be great. But in truth, not so much. There's a reason this is strictly 3rd echelon. The songs are fine (it would be nice if they wrote some of their own) but production is very inconsistent and choppy. Volume levels, arrangements and performances are all over the place; some of the tracks sound absolutely spliced together. Maybe all it needs is a good re-mastering (or better yet re-mixing, although I guess that's probably no longer possible).

Anyway, if your collection is pretty deep into this genre, have at it... otherwise a few tracks here and there on compilations should be plenty.
