WOW!! THIS IS THE BOOK, THIS IS THE BOOK I TELL YOU!!!! This book is fantastic, as a novice to cake decorating, this book answers, most of my questions and guides you through stage by stage, I highly recommend this book. I initially bought The international school of sugarcraft books 1 and 2 as recommended and they are both very helpful and Im not taking anything away from them as they are great books but this book tops them both. This is the book that should be bought first in my opinion, if you cannot afford to buy all three, as it takes you through many processes in detail.
It has a good few cakes and gives you the ingredients need for various cake tins, from a 5 inch right through to a 12 inch tin, which is a very useful guide!
It shows you the proper way to line tins, cover cakes with marzipan, sugarpaste and royal icing. Cover cake boards. Basic piper, pressure piping, embroidery oh gosh the list goes on and on and on.....
It gives you recipes for making your own marzipan, royal icing, sugarpaste, chocolate sugarpaste, model paste, flower paste, pastillage, glace icing and chocolate ganache.
Takes you through how to make many adult cakes like gateau's and many childrens cakes.
This is a very good book for the novice and also the advanced.
