Review

"... it was a pleasure to find an easy-to-manage paperback that is well laid out and simple to navigate... and with lots of useful illustrations. It also does what it says it will do; it really does cover all aspects of hands-on gardening... I thought it very good value" Gardens Illustrated "... the most detailed gardening book I've ever read and very easy to understand" Garden Answers"

Garden Planning 14 Oct 2009
Format:Turtleback
An excellent book if you need help with planning your garden and want good "how to" details on the work involved. Building walls, steps, pools, and many other garden constructs as well as designing the layout and how to draw a plan.

This books covers basic garden planning including information gathering, design concept and principles, garden function, structure, space and movement, garden style, etc.

It also covers various aspects of garden construction: materials, surfaces, steps, fountains and other water features, walls, fences, gates, patios, drainage, level changes, pergolas, arches, lighting, furniture and other garden features. The interior photos are colour. Interior sketches are in two colours. It is a practical garden book.

Format:Turtleback
There are plenty of drawings, but not enough photos - makes the book a bit dreary.
