Product Description

Product Description

Aaron Leitch, author of The Angelical Language, Volume I and The Angelical Language, Volume II, has created the first how-to Enochian magick grimoire. This practical instruction manual outlines Enochian cosmology, the angels and the spirits of the system, the temple setup, and the making and usage of tools. It reveals the secrets and power of the classical Enochian system by Dee, as well as the modern version by the Golden Dawn, and provides rituals for each. All the angels' names are listed, along with exact instructions for summoning them and descriptions of how they should appear when summoned. Featuring almost 100 illustrations and tables for clarity, this is an important resource for both beginner and advanced practitioners alike.

About the Author

Aaron Leitch is a scholar and practitioner of the Renaissance era magickal arts. He is a member of two Golden Dawn orders and serves as the Imperator of the Sanctuary of Ma'at, an online school dedicated to Golden Dawn studies.

5.0 out of 5 stars Good introductory text 19 Feb 2014
By Alex Sumner VINE VOICE
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
The overall impression I got of this book is that it is aimed at those who are already sold on the idea of Enochian Magic in principal, and would like to learn more about its background.

Generally the quality of Aaron Leitch's writing is high, however: one should observe a serious caveat when reading this book. This is not a *complete* text - but rather the first or introductory part of an ongoing series on Enochian Magic. So for example there is a description of "Gebofal," a sophisticated Enochian self-initiation rite which takes place over 49 days, involving the Enochian Keys and the leaves of Liber Loagaeth. Whilst there is a full description of the daily rite, the key component - the leaves of Loageaeth - are missing from this book. Aaron tells us that he will be publishing his own version of Liber Loagaeth separately, in due course.

The majority of the book describes "Dee-purist Enochiana." So called "Neo-Enochiana" is limited in discussion to the practices of the The Golden Dawn. Aaron mentions other manifestations of "Neo-Enochiana" - e.g. Crowley's Aethyr-work which was published as The Vision and the Voice - but does not go into the same technical, ritualistic detail. The pseudonymous "Thomas Rudd" is dealt with even less, which is a shame as I would have been interested in a discussion of his linking the spirits of the lesser key of Solomon with the seven ensigns of creation (see: Treatise on Angel Magic: Magnum Opus Hermetic Sourceworks).

5.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic book on Enochian 4 Mar 2014
By Daniel McKeever - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Kindle Edition
Aaron Leitch has long been one of my favorite writers on Enochian. His 2-volume work on the Enochian Language took my Golden Dawn understanding of Enochian to a new level and introduced me to a world of 'Purist' Enochian study. Leitch has a firm grasp on the source materials and builds from there, incorporating GD material, but qualifying it as a deviation from the source work. The current work presents a great resource that straddles both approaches beautifully. I highly recommend this book for any serious practitioner of Enochian Magic.

5.0 out of 5 stars this is a great book to start your learning process 24 July 2014
By TJ - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Kindle Edition
I have read many works (both free and purchased) on Enochian. This is the first author to methodically lay out a full explanation of the systems as John Dee likely meant to document it. It is careful to glean out any later material (such as Golden Dawn) that was appended or added to the original system so one gets a true view of what the original documentation was likely to convey. That is not to say the GD material is "wrong," but this book leaves the reader with the option of making their own choice in usage or understanding of the material (Dee's original system vs. Neo-Enochiana/Golden Dawn). In places where the author must make an interpretation, because of the lack of surviving explanatory material, he is very concise in explaining his logic and provides supporting material for the interpretation.

I was so impressed with the book that I purchased Mr. Leitch's other two books on Enochian (The Angelical Language Vol I & II). The Essential Enochian Grimoire is a fabulous PRIMER for the more extensive 'Angelical Language' tomes. If you know little about Enochian, this is a great book to start your learning process. After reading it and the two 'Angelical Language' volumes, I actually went back and read the Essential Enochian Grimoire a second time, picking up even more information. Give it a chance and you won't be disappointed.
