A brilliant tale of the French revolution and its good and bad effects. Captures the lifestyle of the time both in England and France

HASH(0x8d57deb8) out of 5 stars Good Place to Try Out Charles Dickens 5 July 2014
By Thomas Baldovin - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Kindle Edition
This is an excellent collection of Dickens' best and most popular works. For the reader who wants to try out Dickens, this would be a good place to start. Dickens writing is a bit difficult for the modern reader but is well-worth the effort. His stories are wonderfully imagined with an astonishing and delightful cast of characters. Other writers in English have been more subtle, more complex, and more profound, but for sheer story-telling at its finest, Dickens is the man.

HASH(0x8d57df00) out of 5 stars Good Collection 23 Jun. 2014
By William A Catlett - Published on Amazon.com

I thought this was a good collection of Dickens favorites for those that don't want to read the entire collection of novels. If you want to read more of Dickens I would recommend this as a good choice.

HASH(0x8d47775c) out of 5 stars A Tale of Two Cities has one of the best opening paragraphs in all of literature 6 Dec. 2014
By Ohio Nelly Bly - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Kindle Edition Verified Purchase
It is what is promises: the essential Charles Dickens. Since it seems schools are no longer including Dickens in their curricula, this is a book readers should add to their essentials list. A Tale of Two Cities has one of the best opening paragraphs in all of literature, and A Christmas Carol is the most essential Christmas story of all time, except for the Nativity.

HASH(0x8d57f0f0) out of 5 stars Nothing beats the Classics 4 Jun. 2014

There's just nothing like reading the classics-no matter how many times you're exposed to Dickens, there's always something new to see. So meaty & fun to read!
