Whilst the selection of tracks is appealling, and the price is terribly reasonable for a 2CD set, the devil is in the detail. For on the back of the case, you'll find the words "This technical reconstruction is uniquely identifiable and is copyright". In plain English, that means "We've mucked about with the audio to give it a nasty mock-stereo effect".
The shame here is that underneath the reverb-drenched electronic fiddling, it sounds like the base tracks were a lot better quality than you'll find on many other compilations. A pity then that Avid Entertainment felt the need to tinker with them.
