Product Description

Review

Dawn and Andy are the first Reiki Masters in recent times to put forth the effort of restoring Reiki, a spiritual healing system promoting health and well being, towards the original goals and ideals of its founder Sensei Mikao Usui. This body of work inspires a new sense of spirituality that is currently deficient in the modern day worldwide Reiki community. Virtues of honour, integrity, hard work and sincerity of practice are found within these pages. Read this book to gain a deeper understanding of your Reiki practice, or let it inspire you to begin a new journey towards an incredible path of healing and self discovery for lifetimes to come. --Stephen Buck, Certified Massage Therapist, Reiki Master Teacher

Reiki is more than just a complementary therapy to be learnt and applied to clients, it is about a way of life, but yet a way of life that does not require any stipulated religious belief system. This book clearly helps to get that message across and works towards a greater understanding of how Reiki and science are finding a common ground in today's society. This is truly a valuable book for anyone new to Reiki or already experienced in this field. --Giles Cartmel, Reiki Practitioner/Master Teacher

Format: Paperback
I have read several books on reiki in the last year, most were full of western added fluff, and had taken out most of the essential teachings of Reiki's founder Usui - Sensei.
I have read this book 3 times now, and i have no doubt i will read it again and again. (Why are there not more books following the orignal system?). It has become my bible on Reiki, with the founder being the source. I have much respect for Usui - Sensei, that is why i see it as of great importance to practice and teach Reiki in its original form.
Being a Reiki practitioner, it is a source of un-measureable knowledge of the original and natural healing system - Reiki, as taught by the founder Usui - Sensei.
I have been taught with accordance to the original teachings, and found it very difficult to find books that follow Usui - Sensei's teachings as they were meant to be. I know it is of great importance that Reiki is taught in its original format, as Usui intended, there was no need for the west to add to the system, it was perfect, complete and powerful in the first place.
For example, some reiki books claim that the symbols are not important, and are purley a means of focus for students to use until they grow out of it. This goes completley against Usui - Sensei's teachings, as the 4 symbols are a means of accessing universal energy of specific frequecy, to use to work on any area of the mind, body and soul. The symbols have an energy based on their sacred geometry. These symbols were given to Usui - Sensei during his 21 retreat: fasting, meditating, chanting and praying at Mount Kurama.
In japanese culture, 3 ideas have great meaning.. 'Shapes have power' (Shirushi), 'Words carry spirit' (Jumon), and 'Sounds invoke universal frequencies' (Kotodama).

I did my Reiki training with the authors and decided to purchase the book to gain further insight and knowledge about Usui Reiki. I am glad that I did, as it did add to the excellent teaching I received on the courses. The book is well written, accessible and very thought provoking. It covers the history of Usui Reiki in detail; it outlines scientific evidence and also emphasises the reciprocal nature of practice, personal (spiritual) growth and one's proficiency with Reiki. I think that the book would also prove very useful and enlightening to those who have a general or budding interest in Usui Reiki. Very highly recommended.

This book is great and essential for everyone that takes Reiki seriously. This is my reference book as it gives me the original teachings of Sensei Usui. Complete and straightforward, it explains you the essence of Reiki, leaving out what has been added to it for the last decades in the west.
