About the Author

Brant Cooper helps startups get started. As a Lean Startup thought leader, he travels the world speaking to entrepreneurs at conferences, hackathons and workshops. Recent speaking events include the Kuala Lumpur Venture Capital Symposium, Lean Startup conferences in Vancouver and Michigan, the Forward Technology Conference in Wisconsin, the Lean Startup Challenge in Boston, and Lean Startup Machines in London, New York, Boston, Chicago and San Francisco. Brant also consults for and advises startups on Lean Startups and Customer Development, with clients in Silicon Valley, New York, San Diego, France, Australia and Singapore.

Clients include Qualcomm, MOGL, HubKick, MotherKnows, i.TV, Lean Startup Machine, Discovr and many others.

Prior to becoming involved in the Lean Startup community, Brant was involved with startups in a more traditional way. He has over 20 years experience in IT and a long track record of bringing high tech products to market. As a leader in Professional Services, Product Management and Marketing, he has directed strategy, design, marketing and implementation of numerous products for a variety of startups including Tumbleweed, Timestamp, WildPackets, Incode and InfoBright.

Format: Paperback Verified Purchase
If you measure the value of a book by the number of pages you get for your pounds, look away now. The Entrepreneurs Guide to Customer Development is a slim and comparatively expensive volume. But if you're looking for a short, actionable summary to Steven Gary Blank's "The Four Steps to the Epiphany" this book will seem like excellent value. I've added more post-it tabs and made more notes in the margin in this book's less-than-100 pages than in many much weightier volumes. It seems Mies Van de Rohe was right - in this case, less is more.

This book is only 50 or so pages long which is definitely not in this books favour, some could call it the most overpriced blog article you'll find in amazon, however it does provide some additional value to those not first sold on Steve Blank's book.

I would argue that taking careful notes from blank's book will serve you better AND most importantly this book only covers the first section of Blank's book 'Customer Discovery'. I would recommend to avoid this specific book but if you do buy it certainly don't read this until you have read Blank's masterpiece!

I really enjoyed this book and will most likely read it again. It was quite short but packed with excellent information which other authors would have stretched into a long book. The only slight issue was several spelling mistakes / typos.
