This book is concise yet thorough. It is thoroughly Scriptural yet not harshly dogmatic. John Hosier has a good pedigree as both a theologian (he lectured at Moorlands College for three years) and as a practicioner. His CV includes ministry in the Baptist Union and a stint as senior pastor of Clarendon Church (now Church of Christ the King) in Brighton. When reading the book, you need to be aware of the 'texture'. He writes as an evangelical, with reformed AND charismatic convictions. He comes from the Restorationist / New Church stream known as NFI (New Frontiers International), which (in its very early days) had a strong triumphalistic eschatology, but Hosier draws a more balanced, nevertheless optimistic, conclusion. Whether you're 'pre', 'post' or 'a' - this book deserves your attention.
