Viewing the pages in this book simply to experience works by the graphic artist David Carson fills one's mind with awe. The creativeness of Carson's exploration of type, layout and visual imagery amazes and inspires! Blackwell's compilation of images from Carson's folio forms an excellent source of reference and graphic stimulus for the designer and student alike. I have no idea if there is any accompanying text!

This book is not for the faint-hearted. If you want neatly-justified paragraphs and standard column grids then stay away.
If, on the other hand, you're ready to let go of your pre-conceived notions about the role of typography and print in the mainstream media, then this book will blow you away.
It's typography with emotions. Inspirational.
