Product Description

In her debut novel, Patricia Cori weaves her visionary message into a page-turning fantasy adventure that speaks to the very soul of the planet.

Within minutes of one another, three bone-chilling events take place around the globe. In Los Angeles, hundreds of blackbirds drop out of the sky, zapped to their death, mid-flight; in Maine, miles of beach are covered in tens of thousands of dead fish; in New Zealand, 150 whales and dolphins lie dead or dying on the beach.

Jamie Hastings, a renowned psychic researcher and telepath, forges a deep soul connection with the dying whales that leads to her troubled journey at sea as a consultant for USOIL, a Texas based oil company that's drilling in the most pristine waters of the Pacific Northwest, looking for oil--or so it seems. A bizarre unfolding of events aboard ship sparks the unraveling of a truly evil plan of a secret government that is intent upon silencing the music of the oceans and destroying all life on the planet.

As impossible as it is to imagine anything as sinister as the shadow Jamie faces in her mission to save the earth from the doomsday weapon bearing down on the world, the fact is that it is actually happening, at this very moment, while most of the world is asleep--or simply unaware.

One woman has been chosen to be the voice, against the forces of evil, of the cherished creatures of the sea. She is the emissary.

The question is: Is there still time for her to stop it?

As a stand-alone fiction book, "The Emissary" is one hell of a good story - but read between the lines, and you'll discover so much more!

Patricia Cori's inspirational protagonist, Jamie Hastings, has much to teach us all - and while the book may be set in the often unchartered territories of whales and dolphins, it carries a powerful message that none of us can afford to miss.

As I was drawn into the well written, intriguing and un-put-downable tale, the figure of Erin Brockovich kept coming to mind - and I have no doubt, that in the future "The Emissary" will be turned into one of those films that we’ll look back on as a world game-changer.

5.0 out of 5 stars You will NOT put it down till finished! 15 April 2014
Patricia Cori’s The Emissary is a ‘cannot put it down’ book. Its tale of a world drowning in self interest and greed, out to destroy the very guardians of that world, the Cetaceans, starts the reader on a roller coaster of excitement, intrigue and race against time.

From the outset characters speak to us from the eclectic diversity tied up and confronted by humanity’s inevitable self annihilation. Heroine Jamie Hastings, an enigmatic latter day shaman and passionate environmentalist, whose insights and other dimensional awareness help solve dead cases for a LA Police Department at the end of their tether. Her first love is for whales and dolphins and witnessing their inexplicable death of hundreds on a beach disaster brings her to the attention of darker corporate self interest. An appointment with destiny is thus sealed and we are riveted into her journey to its conclusion. Becoming immersed in the lives of each character, so familiar to those we ourselves may know. Patricia’s pace, vivid imagery and sensitivity skilfully unfurls a deepening, gripping and horrifying tale. For those who love this blue marble, I challenge you to be so absorbed that you will want to read it at one sitting. A story never riper to be complimented as a thunderingly good screenplay, The Emissary is a modern day masterpiece. Belt up and love the ride!

I was privileged to receive an author's copy of The Emissary, and oh boy, who would have known that in this fast read, action packed triller, conspiracy and life altering story, Patricia Cori has very cleverly told the story of an ordinary woman with extraordinary gifts, whose choices have an ultimate course of survival or destruction of the planet. I guarantee that you will not be able to put the book down - a definite winner.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent Tale That Makes One Think About What We Do to Our Oceans! 4 Mar 2014
By Michael A. Newman - Published on
This book is based on a reviewer copy received directly from the author but reflects my personal opinion.

Jamie Hastings has a special ability that allows her to sense things. She had successfully helped the Los Angeles Police solve 53 "unsolvable" cases and had also helped find oil wells in the desert. When the book opens, birds and ocean life are being killed mysteriously on a massive scale. Jamie is called to the scene in New Zealand where many whales and dolphins have been beached and are dying. The author gives a hint then of the mysterious force behind all this.

Jamie's abilities come to the attention of Matt Anderson, the CEO for USOIL. Matt is looking to find oil in the Pacific North, having received permission from the Canadian government to do so. He convinces Jamie to come help him. Jamie at first complains that what USOIL does, kills sea life, especially the whales but she feels that her presence will be able to protect the whales and prevent USOIL from doing bad to the ecology in their quest.

Things are not what they seem to be as the giant "yacht" that Jamie is assigned has a very aloof and offputting crew and has military level sonar and weaponry aboard. Jamie will later bond with Jimbo the Captain and the two will have an interesting friendship.

The book is excellently written and even though a little slow going during the first half it picks up towards the middle and the rest of the book is like a ride down a steep roller coaster! Ms Cori, uses that first half to build the tension aboard ship and the reader, like Jamie having a hard time understanding what is really going on.

The author's foremost message from the book is that sonar is very dangerous to the sea-life that use their own songs to communicate and thrive. The military and the Oil companies need to very aware where the whales have their sanctuaries and be very careful using this equipment.

This was a very quick read and I look forward to more work from this author.

5.0 out of 5 stars Another great book by Patricia Cori - I couldn't put it down! 8 May 2014

I have read just about all of Patricia's books and have been enthralled by every one. In this one, done in novel form, I found it well written and exciting - a thriller too exciting to put down. I finished it in two days and then gave it to my husband and he loved it too. I am an advocate of Dolphins and Whales, and was devastated when I heard about them beaching themselves by the hundreds and dying! Now I know why! I also know Patricia was involved in helping to set up a charitable foundation for them at the time. I saw a lot of "her" in the main character of this book. Perhaps more people will become aware of what is really going on in Alaska, and all the secrets our military are keeping from us. They are the ones causing these disasters with our oceans and the weather ( H. A. R. P). - It's NOT what they claim it to be......

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent reading! 7 May 2014

I couldn't put this book down. I cannot help but think that there is quite an element of truth in this story even though it is a writing of fiction. Even if a small piece of the information provided here is truth, then we must all come together to defend the whales and dolphin beings from being destroyed by the ultra-sonic waves we subject them to under the water and on top. There are still some who would hunt them down to kill them for their flesh, not knowing that they are also killing themselves by stopping the whale song keeping the planet Earth stable and safe. I think this 'Novel' should be read my many and discussed at book clubs throughout the world.

Total truth disguised as fiction! Could not put this down once I started reading. I have read all of Patricia's books and many times for each. She is the Emissary and her words ring with truth. Our Mother is suffering and we must listen before we step over the line of no return!
