4.0 out of 5 stars Azar Strunk Jr 22 Jan 2013
Format:Paperback
A little dated but still sound advice. Helpful for many I'm sure my age who went through formal education with little or no lessons on grammar syntax and the fundamentals of the English language.

4.0 out of 5 stars Pretty good. 16 Nov 2013
Format:Paperback|Verified Purchase
A good read if you wish to improve your composition. I liked the author's forthrightness, "downright bad English;". My review was too succinct therefore I have had to write this, please ignore.

Don't buy this version as the typesetting i appalling. BY this I mean the pagination is all over the place, which make reading it a bit of a chore. Find another professionally typeset version and buy that instead.

If you have an internet connection and a brain don't get this. I can get better information from Grammar Girl. Get the original "Elements of Style" instead; it's much better.

1.0 out of 5 stars Not The Real "Elements of Style" 25 Aug 2011
By Judah - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback
This is a public domain version of an old 1919 copy of a grammar text by William Strunk Jr. It is not useful. Writing standards are different in 2011 compared with 1919.

"The Elements of Style (4th Edition)" by William Strunk (Author), E. B. White (Author), Roger Angell (Foreword) is what you want to buy.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Elements of Style 10 Mar 2007
By Johnny B - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback
This power packed literary guide is essential for anyone who wishes to write better. Whether you are in an English class or need to write something professionally, this is the guide book to show you how. I purchased this book for a college English course, and it has proved to be a valuable tool in furthering my written communication skills.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Elements of Style: The Original Edition 5 Sep 2007
By Emma Jane - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback|Verified Purchase
This has been a standard in my bookshelf, actually on my bedside table, for many years. This new copy went to university with my grandson who is a freshman. I cannot say enough good things about this little book; neither can I tell you how many I have given to young (and older) students for use as they embark on high school or college writing. Strunk is the most concise and perfect help for writing that I have found.

3.0 out of 5 stars Be careful... 13 July 2011
By K. Kondo - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback
This version appears to be the original text by Strunk only. The fourth edition is a much updated publication and features both Strunk and White as the authors.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Best Little Book About English 28 July 2007
By Brandon Simpson - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback
This little book is considered classic and timeless by many professors and students. I find it very helpful. It inspired me to write my own book about English.
