This 10 CD set contains these albums:

Seven Letters From Tibet
Starbound Collection
Silver Siren Collection
Ocean Waves Collection
Transsiberia
Cyberjam Collection
The Dante Song Collection From The Divine Comedy
Canyon Cazuma
Tangines Scales
The Independent Years

In theory this is a 10 CD collection of collections!
This set contains some nice music from Tangerine Dream and is a great introduction to their later works. The packaging is very dissapointing, what you see on the front box is the same on all 10 slip cases and there is no booklet either but this is only a small critisism on this great value for money package.Buying the titles individually would cost you over £100 so grab this box while you can.

Yes, these are some of the more recent Tangerine Dream recordings, Yes, they all have been issued somewhere before. Yes, they have been repackaged. BUT I am impressed with what I have heard in these and with 10 CDs to get through I still have a long way to go. AND how can anyone argue about the price? If, like me, you don't have much TD from after 1990 then this may go some way to filling the space (and, really, can anyone ever own all of their releases?).

Can't quite believe the value of this collection. Whilst there may not be anything quite as brilliant as Tangram or Logos here, there are some absolutely gems. I particluarly love the "Ocean Waves Collection" and "Tangines Scales" which do stand up to be as good as the 1970's and 1980's efforts. Thats not to take away from the rest of the music here - like all great TG releases, they are growing on me daily.
An absolute bargain!!!

As a long time fan of T.Dream and the owner of 60+ T.d. albums on both vinyl and CD I was initially surprised that none of the albums in this boxset were known to me. However the price alone was to tempting to resist. I feared that these would be inferior recordings, but rest assured they are nothing of the sort.
Upon receiving the boxset I placed the first disc in the CD player and sat down to listen and be underwhelmed. This was not the case. Within the first minute of the first track I knew that this disc alone was worth the price of the full boxset. With very few exceptions the other disc have proved to be equally as worthy.
I would certainly recommend this set to any T. Dream fan or anybody interested in Synth music.

This is an excellent set of CDs for a very good price. With the addition of new band members you now have live guitar, saxophone and some vocals added to the usual electronic creativity from Edgar Froese. This livens up a lot of the tracks and helps freshens up the TD offering in my mind.

Can't go wrong for 10 CDs at this price - even if you already own or dont like the odd one or two! worth taking a risk.

Like I said above, I initially thought "Not ANOTHER collection - do something new!" but, as many reviewers have said, in terms of sheer value for money, this set has a lot. I think I'll use it as my "day-to-day" playing material and store the originals somewhere safe.

There's a huge amount of material from latter TD albums (that is, the ones that can be cut and pasted into 'compilation albums' - what a horrible thought for early TD fans).

It may have been helpful to have had the original album names alongside the tracks, but most fans will know the sources already. Since this collection is clearly aimed at the TD novice, perhaps including a booklet as in Klaus Schulze's "Kontinuum" would have worked (although it would have to be legible this time - eh, Klaus?).

One small gripe I have is with the packaging. The card box with 10 card sleeves is actually okay, but it's reduced to the level of supermarket "Value" goods by having the same monochrome cover on the box and each sleeve. It's what's become the TD "house style", reminiscent of nuclear blast test subjects with those facing the light wearing dark glasses and having their hair blown back. The only variation is that this time they're standing in shallow water and aren't wearing their big black stetsons (what WAS that about?). The original album covers would have been preferable, but would have added to the cost - clearly defeating the point of this collection. The mono cover is overlaid with orange text (tangerine?). Oh, dear.

It's also getting to be a little unsettling to see that almost every track on these "collections" nowadays is credited solely to Edgar Froese.

I bought it for two reasons: (1) it offers a ten CD collection of albums which I didn't want to buy because I was not very much into contemporary TD sound and (2) it was cheap (becuase TD's CDs are rather expensive and the amount of the albums recently is quite vast!). I thought - great, I will have a nice insight into their latest outings. The box looks great. However, I am disappointed for several reasons.

First, the cardboard sleeves of individual CDs do not have the original artwork printed on them. What you have is the same picture on each of the 10 CDs... Secondly, the 10th CD is so shoddily mastered that the last song (Electric Lion) is almost unlistenable due to horrid clicks throughout (these clicks can be also heard at the end of the previous song on the CD). Thirdly, some of the tracks have wrong titles (see details here: www.voices-in-the-net.de).

So - I should not maybe complain. For this price.... But still someone should have done a better job. This is not junk food, but music. The idea was great. If it wasn't for the faulty master of the last CD I would be very satisfied and happy with the purchase.
