I'm not the biggest fan of the TV show, I will admit, as it seems to me that the Egghead get the lucky easy questions far more often than the opponents do. Three of the Eggheads are such superb quizzers that they don't need this to win. So I wasn't expecting much from this book. Yet I have to say I am quite pleasantly surprised.
There's a couple of reasons why you might be thinking of buying this book . If you're a fan of the show, then the book does contain profiles of the five Eggheads themselves, which is quite a nice little touch for the fans. Questions are in categories, and in multiple choice format as they are in the show.
If you're buying this to test yourself on the questions, then you'll probably come away feeling quite good about yourself. The majority of questions in the book are there to test the knowledge of the average person in the street, and as such seem relatively easy to regular quizzers. I set quizzes regularly, and this is the kind of book which I would use to provide questions which I would expect all of the teams to get correct. There's nothing wrong with that, either. There's 1500 questions in the book, which is quite a decent amount for your money too.
