Interesting documentary of an inspiring woman 3 Jun 2010
By I. Corlett - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Hardcover
This is an elaboration on Edith Holden's published books, paintings, correspondence, diaries and "Nature Notes." It contains background information, family photos, newspaper clippings, examples of her work and information about the period of time, detailed descriptions and illustrations by Edith of her surroundings and culture in which she lived, and detailed and very interesting information and stories about her and her family. It's a fascinating book on it's own and is an enhancement of the actual diaries and her actual "Nature Notes." If you're interested in the life and times of Edwardian England, this book will be very interesting to you. If you're interested in the many things women have done, and can do, this is really an inspiring book.
If you'd like to read another book based on diaries with another inspiring woman and intriguing times, there's also a new book out that I really loved reading, that you might like, about a popular leading Socialite in Seattle who chose to become a fisherwoman on a two person boat in Alaska in the 1940's :Fish Out of Water
