4.0 out of 5 stars History and a good yarn 1 Nov 2012
Format:Paperback|Amazon Verified Purchase
This novel contained so many historical facts setting the scene, they sometimes got in the way of the story. However, the tale was gripping, and the history made a lot of sense, and was enlightening, bringing to life Anglesey and North Wales as it must have been in the past, so overall, it was a thoroughly enjoyable read.

5.0 out of 5 stars welsh romance 16 July 2012
By Sue.

Loved this romantic, historical, fictional story. A real page turner. The characters were very believable and the book was very well written.Set in a beautiful area of Wales and highlighted the exploitation of the local welsh community in the early 1800s.A good mix of fiction in the story with a lot of historical facts in the locations. It even encouraged me to visit some of the locations mentioned in the book. It increased my knowledge of the North Wales area and even some of the language. Enjoyed the whole experience. I have recommended this book to all my family and friends.

My husband and I have a static caravan near Beaumaris on the isle of Anglesey, so when we received The Ebb & Flow as a present for our wedding anniversary we were determined to read it when at the van. Over the last weekend we fought over the book just like The Earl and Sir John in Georgian Ynys Mon. What a fab read, not turgid and factual, a truly interesting read and a great plot.
