MAGNIFIC ! 11 Jan 2000
By Paulo (paulovol@convex.com.br) - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Audio CD
This is certainly the best Saxon live material. It was recorded in 1995 during the Dogs of War tour. It incorporates the new guitarrist Doug Scarrat, which plays (very well) the guitar parts originally played by Graham Oliver, although in my pessoal opinion I prefer the style of Graham Oliver. The band is very well tuned, with powerfull guitars. The quality of this recording is amazing ! In my opinion, the high point of this double live recording are the tracks "Crusader" (With a magnific guitar solo by Paul Quinn), "Ain't gonna take it" (With an amazing and powerfull guitar riff), "The great white buffalo'' and "The eagle has landed"(With a powerfull guitar riff too). There are too a great guitar solo by Paul Quinn on the introduction of the track "Princess of the night", a guitar solo by Doug Scarrat on the introduction of the track "Wheels of steel", and a bass solo of Nibbs Carter on the introduction of "Crash Dive". All Saxon fan must have this recording, pure heavy metal !

One of the Best Live Heavy metal Albums You'll Ever Hear! 18 July 2000
By The Ripper - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Audio CD
The first Saxon song I ever heard was "747(Strangers in the Night)". I loved it. Here, in the US, Saxon are very hard to find. I was overwhelmed with joy when i saw this cd in the heavy metal section of the store called "record town". I bought the cd, and when I put it on, I knew that it was worth all the 20 dollars I paid for it. This is the only live album I've heard that comes close to Judas Piest's 1979 live album Unleashed in the East. Every metal fan should have this cd(2 cd's), cause it rocks from start to finish! You won't be dissapointed!

Saxon Rules! 10 Aug 1999
By A Customer - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Audio CD
My first encouter with Saxon was 1982 when I listened to "Heavy Metal Thunder" from the album "Strong Arm of The Law." I remember that I was so impressed with their power and articulateness. Saxon still carry their power and HM spirit. Each piece on this CD is just great, but a real gem on this CD is "Denim and Leather" featuring Yngwie Malmsteen. The guilar solo battle of Denim and Leather among a virtuoso Yngwie Malmsteen, a talented veteran Paul Quinn, and a new face (not now, but at that time) Doug Scarrat is nothing but awesome! Saxon is my favorite NWOBHM band and has been one of the most popular HM bands in my home country (Japan) for a long time. I just don't understand why Saxon didn't become popular in the U.S. Highly recommended!
