Product description for: The Dying Times, second edition, 55,000 words.

Nadene Schafer never imagined a world plagued with the walking dead, and when she becomes infected with the virus, she wonders how much time she has left amongst the living.

A missile attack by the African arm of the terrorist organization known as Six releases a virus on the eastern United States and its allies. In the blink of an eye, the virus infects more than forty million Americans. The disease transforms the infected into cannibalistic monsters and spreads through the countryside like wildfire.

Nadene hopes that she can use her strange new abilities to help her friends to safety before the virus takes her life. With the living dead lurching around every street corner, the survivors are left with only two options: risk leaving their safe places to escape or remain hidden with no hope of rescue. In this new world, death watches from every shadow, waiting to sate its hunger on the tender flesh of the careless.

Content Advisory: Graphic depictions of violence, gore, and death. Some strong language. Reader discretion is advised.

4.0 out of 5 stars Not Bad at all!!! 1 May 2013

At first I wasn't sure about this book. Not really into reading about zombies from a teen's side of things. However, it wasn't too bad. A few of the details were very slim but all in all I enjoyed the suspense.

Very realistic, I couldn't put it down. The ending had me on the edge of my seat. Best zombie book I've read in quite some time. You're in for a treat if you buy this book. I can hardly wait to read more from this author.

4.0 out of 5 stars Entertaining! 8 Oct 2012
By Cynthia E - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Kindle Edition
The Dying Times is a YA focused zombie story.

When I first started this story, I felt as if it might be a little too YA for my taste. You have Nadine gossiping and bantering with her best friend. I was almost ready to write this story off, then the action kicked in and I found it hard to put my Kindle down. I HAD to keep reading.

I think when the book really grabbed my attention is when Nadine and her mother met up with Wayne to flee westward. From that point on I was hooked.

One thing that I noticed was when I opened this ebook on my Kindle, the text was tiny. I had to enlarge the text quite a bit (okay--alot). This was just a small thing, but I thought it was worth mentioning.

*I got this e-book through the LibraryThing Member Giveaway program in exchange for an honest review.

4.0 out of 5 stars Fun Read 18 Mar 2014

I enjoyed this book. I like how the author is a man that writes very well from a girl teenager's point of view. It's got plenty of action. Characters that the author isn't afraid to kill off after you become 'attached' to them. I think that the author is on to something here and I look forward to reading where he's going!

while told mostly from the perspective of a teenaged girl it held my interest throughout. I'm hoping the next

book tells me more about this group.
