Book Description

15 Oct 2013 Duck Dynasty
This 365-day devotional contains a brief message, an inspirational scripture and a prayer for each day of the year. With contributions from all the members of the family, from patriarch Will and his wife Kay, to their four sons (Willie, Jase, Jep and Alan) and their beautiful wives and children, not to forget Uncle Si, this book reveals the faith that lies at the core of all that they do. The Robertson clan's flair for down-home wisdom and wit has rarely been better illustrated than in this volume, which is sure to appeal to their many fans. We even get to hear from Martin and Godwin, the only two non-family members who are regulars on the show.

5.0 out of 5 stars Wonderful Daily Devotional!! 18 Jan 2014
Format:Kindle Edition
Definitely a great devotional book to read! I'm ahead in the month as I don't want to put it down! Gives you an even better insight to the lovely family Robertson's lives as a family and as Christians. Miss Kay wrote a special one about a passage in the bible regarding addictions as a mother and drinking wine ... wow, it is what I have been thinking about when changing my own habits for a long while in order to be a better parent to my kids. A definite life changing book in itself.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best devotional Ive ever read 11 Jan 2014
Format:Hardcover|Verified Purchase
This is a truely brilliant book! It is one of the best devotionals I've ever read. It is set out nicely and has the Robertson familys favourite bible passages, a little about why they like that passage so much and they end it with a prayer at the end. I think a good point about this book is that it's a bible based product but without being preachy. If you are just starting your walk with God or if you have been a Christian for years, give this book a try! True value for money.

5.0 out of 5 stars Just received mine today. 19 Oct 2013
By Lisa Goodale - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Hardcover|Verified Purchase
Just received mine today. And couldn't wait to open it. I have been longing for this book to arrive. I am a very spiritual person but not 'religious'. I don't believe in denominations, just God and Jesus Christ. I feel this family understands that and this book helps me focus more on what I believe I need, this country needs more of today. I have tried many, many times to read the bible but can't seem to get through the whole part about who begot who begot who. I don't even know where to start, so this was the devotional I have been searching for, for a very long time. Others I have looked at didn't speak to my heart like this one does.
Thank You so much!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Five Stars for Getting People Back into the Bible 16 Oct 2013
By Ryan J. Dejonghe - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Hardcover
One of the unexpected blessings, if you will, of the television reality show Duck Dynasty is exposure to the Word of God. Skeptics may doubt the earnestness of the Robertson clan’s faith, but one thing they can’t dismiss is their sure confidence and testimony.

When THE DUCK COMMANDER DEVOTIONAL was announced, I thought it would be just another cash grab from television network A&E. And, it kind of is. But, let’s set that aside and focus on what this book is actually accomplishing—people spending daily time reflecting on Biblical scripture and ways to improve their lives. And that’s a good thing, right? No matter what your Christian affiliation, you’d have to agree with that, jack.

Amazon lists this devotional as being written by Al Robertson, but the entire family contributes to the devotionals throughout. Each day’s reflection starts with a Bible passage, then is followed by a personal Duck Dynasty-themed story, and then concludes in a prayer. Again—all good stuff, right? The stories are personal reflections that include the thoughts behind the daily verse(s) and sometimes includes additional versus to lookup.

As for the stories themselves, expect more of what you see in the show. If you’ve read either Si's or Phil's book, you’ll know what to expect. You won’t get insight into who these people are when they aren’t in front of the camera, but at least you’ll know what is par for the course.

The version I am reviewing is electronic, which is nice, but I would suppose the hardcover version to be superior; besides being a daily visual reminder, it would be the perfect edition to break out that ol’ yellow highlighter.

So, yes, A&E will be getting some more money off of this book, but if you devote yourself to daily reading, the results will pay off in dividends. Other devotionals may offer more content or a more focused message, but this is perfect for fans of the show coming back into reading their daily Word.

5.0 out of 5 stars A FINE DEVOTIONAL FOR EVERY CHRISTIAN! 16 Oct 2013
By the GreatReads! - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Hardcover
The Duck Commander Devotional by Alan Robertson is one of the finest devotionals I have seen. Rich in content and elaborately designed to have a pleasing look with a short inspiring message supplemented by a passage from the Scripture, and a prayer, this unique devotional comes from the stars of Duck Dynasty, although the compiler Alan Robertson is the only one who isn't on the Duck Dynasty® show yet.

A perfect gift for all occasions, this 365-day devotional published by Howard Books (October, 2013) will help and inspire you in your faith-walk and you will be blessed by the journey.

4.0 out of 5 stars Nice for adults 30 Oct 2013
By Michael D. King - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Hardcover|Verified Purchase
This is a nice daily devotional with submissions by all your favorite cast members of the show. Each day's entry has a Bible quote, a modern day comparison (or explanation), and a prayer. It is written at an adult level so my 8 year old son was lost. It is definitely "meat" not "milk".
