Book Description

7 Oct 1999 Heritage of Shannara
To the scions of Shannara had fallen three tasks: Par must find the fabled Sword of Shannara. This he has accomplished, but he believes he has killed his brother, Coll. Rimmer Dall, the Federation's Chief Seeker, has planted an awful thought in Par's mind - that he himself is Shadowen, the very evil he seeks to destroy. Wren is in the Westland, seeking out the elves. And in the Northland ... Walker Boh has been commanded by the shade of Allanon to discover the lost city of Paramor and recreate the Order of Druids, disbanded these three hundred years. To begin this he must find the Black Elfstone, but the gem is in the hands of an ancient being of timeless evil - the Stone King. Beset on all sides by enemies, and his own self-doubt, Walker sets out on his part of the perilous quest which will either bring success - or destruction.

5.0 out of 5 stars Brilliant! 28 May 2002
Format:Paperback
I'd started to read The Voyage of the Jerle Shannara series last year (and unfortunately haven't been able to finish it as the third book isn't on sale yet (;_;)) and I read this series to fill the gap. And it was great! This book was excellent, as with all of Brooks' works. The way he makes me feel a part of the story has made me a life long fan, and this book is no exception.

If you like authors of fantasy books, you'll love this (but make sure you read the rest of the series first so you know what its going on about!)! READ IT!

5.0 out of 5 stars Good Book 18 Jan 2001
By A Customer
Format:Paperback
The first three Shannara books gave you the legacy of the Druids but not what it took to become one. The Druid of Shannara takes you right to the core of what the Druid legacy means and how it shapes the lives it touches. Growing pains will never seem the same again.

4.0 out of 5 stars another good Terry Brooks book 6 Sep 2010
Format:Paperback|Amazon Verified Purchase
What can i say, if you have read the first book and liked it the the second is just as good. Not to give anything away, you will know who the Druid is quickly although its not confirmed untill the second half of the book. I read this in a week although I was on hoilday but I didn't want to put it down. I was forced to by the kids and the pool but could have read cover to cover.

I do like all for the various Shannara books and if you have started with this set I suggest you stop and start at the beginning of the previous set of books as events from these are refered to quite often. It doen't spoil your enjoyment at all, but will improve it without a doubt.

This was a book full of adventure, magic, monsters and heroes. An excellent follow on to Book One and leads temptingly into Book Three. A must for all Terry Brooks fans.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Heritage of Shannara series 29 Dec 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
Love the characters in this series of books. Real page turners. I would definately recommend them. I have read most of Terry Brooks Shannara stories not always in the right order may I add. I love fantasy stores as you can't guess whats coming next. David A Wells books are also very good.

5.0 out of 5 stars Superb! 17 July 2011

Another excellent book in the Heritage of Shannara series. If you read and enjoyed the first book in this series then you're going to want to read the subsequent ones whatever I say!

This book continues straight on from 'The Scions' and mainly focuses on Walker Boh and Morgan Leah and introduces Quickening - the daughter of The King of the Silver River. I don't want to say any more than that about the story. As ever with Terry Brooks I found the writing to be superb and thoroughly enjoyed the story.
