"We need to keep an eye out for this author and his talent."

Every one of us faces fear each day. What if our worst fears became our reality? And what if those fears gave us incredible power?

Finn McClaren is an average college student, living a mediocre life until a series of nightmares change everything. Shot down in the streets, shoved off a skyscraper, and chased through a dark forest, Finn must face the decision to keep running his whole life, or fight back and live an existence better than the one he has.

When he fights back, he wakes on a distant planet located on the other side of the galaxy in a role he never imagined he could play: that of the hero. The planet is enslaved by an evil emperor, and the people's only hope lies in a young man who never achieved anything on earth. Finn must fight his way through his greatest fears and a series of gladiator games before finally challenging the emperor himself, for a chance to give the people their freedom. And along the way, Finn faces his toughest fear of all: the fear of living an unremarkable life.

1.0 out of 5 stars Bad Grammar = Loss of Credibility 1 Jan 2014
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
In the first few lines: "...pushing me in the backwards" - a new noun? Next: "...clearing a straight path between my pursuers and I" - should be "between my pursuers and me." A few lines later: "...pumping my leg as hard as I could" - the character isn't a monopede, nor has he been shot in the leg yet. Next: "another bullet found it's [sic] way" - elementary schoolboy apostrophe mistake. All these grammatical blunders in the first page or two cause this literary effort to lose all credibility for me. It's small wonder that my wife and I have reverted to paper books.

4.0 out of 5 stars Dream Rider 5 Aug 2013

I enjoyed the book. It was a good read. I liked Finn and the other characters as well. My big problem with this easy read was the horrible proofing prior to publication. It is very distracting to have repeatson words or the wrong word altogether. Other than that I would read more of these stories.

4.0 out of 5 stars A very engaging story. 12 Jan 2014

I just finished reading The Dream Rider, by Ernest Dempsey. The story was very interesting in its premise that you can travel to other world's whial dreaming. The main character Fin, was refreshing in his averageness. I really enjoyed it.
The plot kept me reading into the night. The one issue that I had with this book had nothing to do with the story, it had everything to do with editing. Usually when I come across a novel with so many errors in spelling, grammer, and double printed words, I just stop reading, it is a credit to Mr. Dempseys writing that it kept me engaged even as I mentally corrected the many errors. My advice to him and other writers using electronic media to get their work out there, read and proof your writing, or hire someone else to do it. Your work will definently stand out.
