Product Description

There are always rules... I am the Dream Master. Not you. What I say goes. And I say this dream is gone, so beat it.' There are good dreams and there are rotten dreams, but once they're over, they're over. Or are they? For one morning, as Cy is about to wake up from a terrific dream about Ancient Egypt, he discovers that he can get back into his dream world. There's just one problem: the Dream Master, who isn't used to stroppy boys standing up to him and wanting to break all the rules. And as Cy moves back and forth between the present day and the land of the pharaohs - sorting out all kinds of problems with schoolwork and bullies - dream life and real life become ingeniously intertwined!

The start is about a boy my age having dreams but there is one thing, when he has good dreams they end too early and when he has bad dreams they end too late. But the night when he had a dream about Ancient Egypt that was all going to change. Cy was in that dream. It was about him riding on a horse to save his friend Aten but then just when he was going to save his friend the sand started to sink, the horse galloped faster and cy missed Atens hand and rode away. Then he fell off his horse and the dream started to fade away then he pulled something out then it was gone. The thing that he pulled out was a boy called Aten and he has accidentally pulled him into the real world. I like this book because it is funny and exciting, thrilling and entertaining. It is funny because Cys mum looks after exchange students and Aten has to go to school and makes some mistakes. It is exciting because Aten takes part in the class play but still gets things wrong. It is also exciting because some chapters end at cliffhangers. It is thrilling because when I need to stop reading I want to keep on reading like the time they were trapped between 2 crocodiles. It is entertaining and once you start reading you want to read more books by the same author.

Brilliant 1 July 2000

Cy wakes up one morning in a bit of a mood as he didn't finish what he was meant to do in his Egyptian dream - rescue an Egyptian boy thats about to be executed. Suddenly he is whooshed back into his dream eventhough he's still asleep. A great character is the Dream Master he is extremely bossy yet funny. The actual story is frustrating when the dream world clashes with reality and it's up to the main chaacter Cy to get Atun a dream world character back into the dream. I enjoyed this book because i like fantasy and believe me this is fantasy! The beginning is a bit hard to understand but keep reading because this book is GREAT!

This book is great. It is all about a boy who tries to control his own dream and the 'dream master', who is usually in charge of people's dreams tries to fix the situation. CY falls in and out of his own dream and has lots of adventures on the way and meets lots of characters from the Viking era.I thought this was a really cool idea and it was a brilliant story.
