I have read every Anne McCaffrey book on the Dragonriders of Pern series.The premise is simple, clean fun that anyone from 12 to 102 can wile away a few hours. The stories are written that one can follow and are not caught up in the hard-core science fiction genre of technological gadgets, gore and mind-bending horror.The series can be rather repitious(sorry if I misspelled that) at times but Anne keeps the reader interested.Also, I liked her "Killashandra" series. Whatever you think of this review believe me, I have read the Pern books several times over and haven't tired of them.I also hope Anne McCaffrey goes beyond the end of Avias to another level.

This series MADE my high school experience so many years ago. Do yourself a favor and read this trilogy. Many other books in the series are good, but tread with caution when reading her latter-day Pern books -- some are pure dreck. But these three are great, as is All the Weyrs of Pern and the Harperhall series.

This trilogy stands as one of the best series I've ever read -- and it will bring you into a long series of books on the people and dragons of Pern. I first read "Dragonflight" when I was 13, and it hooked me on fantasy novels in general and Anne McCaffrey in particular. If you haven't read any of her work, this is a great place to start; and, if you have read her work, you will love this trilogy. It is the epic story of how one man, believing in the tales of the past when everyone else ignored them, managed with the help of his co-leader and his brother to save the world, and make themselves legends in the process.

Great for all ages!
This book is one of the best I've ever read. I'm 15, and I think all these books are good for teens. The White Dragon realy relates to us. I hope every one will read this book.

The images and feel for the story is astounding!
It is an incredible tale of dragons and the precarious state of Pern.McCaffery has a specific style that is, to my mind unparalleled.
