My 3 year old is mad on dragons and he certainly enjoyed the pictures, but the story is tripe. Basically its about a wizard who apparently hates dragons. Nevertheless, he keeps a big black one round the house - as you do, collects their eggs and then adopts a small red one at the end. As a character the wizard is inconsistent and poorly written, some of the writing is extremely clumsy and makes for a leaden, tedious story telling experience. Avoid.

The Dragon Snatcher is an enchanting tale of a boy and his dragon - full of excitemetn and wonderful drawings - it has been my son's favourite book since we got it for 18 months ago! The others by MP Robertson are very good, but this is the best!

This is a lovely book beautifully written and beautifully drawn. The context is quite dark but the ending is bright and happy. My little boy loved this book
