Book Description

2 Aug 2004
Refreshing and insightful, rich with humour and brimming with life, this is the story of Nina Shepard, dog walker extraordinaire. With the keys to many strangers' apartments, Nina has the access, the freedom, and the choice to cross a moral boundary, and several foyers, and enter into other people's lives. And so she falls in love with Daniel, a man she has never met but whom she thinks she knows from snooping in his apartment when she picks up his dog for walks. But both Nina and Daniel are imposters, pretending to be what they are not. By the time they learn who the other really is, after mishaps and mistaken identities, deception and lost dogs, it's too late. They've learned too much about themselves and will never be the same again.

Review

Al Franken

author of "Lies and the Lying Liars Who Tell Them"

Laugh-out-loud funny, poignant, and brilliantly observed. Schnur is a true original. Some day, readers of other authors will say, "It's good, but it's no Schnur!"

1.0 out of 5 stars canine smoltz! 11 Aug 2004
By A Customer
Format:Paperback
There is no mystery about Nina - she is a dog walker who snoops a bit. She doesn't learn anything about herself other than snoopers get caught out (and she learns this in the first chapter). I appreciate that this is Leslie Schnur's first novel but I'm afraid it is full of cliches and smoltz, as well as many canine inaccuracies (for example the average rottweiler would not eat your child given half a chance as Nina so authoritatively claims. By the end all the main characters are hugely happy, rich and successful - pretty unrealistic.

1.0 out of 5 stars Yawn 28 Jan 2006
Format:Paperback
This book made me feel so sick I had to stop reading it after a few chapters. I guess if chick lit is your thing then you may like it but I found it stereotypical and dull.

4.0 out of 5 stars Surprisingly good! 22 Jan 2005
Format:Paperback
I have to say when when I saw the book and the title I wasn't impressed but when I started reading the book I felt it got better and better. I recommend this book to anyone who likes romantic comedies and wants an easy read!
