4.0 out of 5 stars Lavish and makes an ideal gift 22 Sep 2009

The Doctor Who Stories is a neat hardback book with a logo printed in silver and blue making it very stylish. The content of the book comprises of a series of stories taken from the Doctor Who Files, which were published as separate books and showcased friends and foes of the Doctor. This particular volume has been updated to include an original story featuring the Master as his alter-ego, Harold Saxon. The stories are printed on glossy pages and heavily illustrated throughout with full colour photographs of friends and foes alike.
For continuity fans, the second Dalek story features the return of the Mechanoids, who originally appeared in the third Dalek television story, The Chase, broadcast in 1965 on BBC tv.
The hardback book comes in a beautifully illustrated slipcase. This book would make an ideal gift or an addition to existing collectable Doctor Who merchandise.

5.0 out of 5 stars Massive hit with Dr Who obsessed Daughter 25 Mar 2010
By BABBA
This book was a huge hit with my daughter who received it for her birthday. I think she went through it in less than a fortnight! It went to school with her, went in the car with her, it went everywhere with her, she couldn't get enough of it. Everyday it was 'I've read another story - it was great!'. Only problem being that when she had finished the book she was really upset...so she set about reading it again?! It's a really well presented book with plenty of pictures and, I think, well worth the money. My daughter is 11 and I know she would highly recommend it. She had some fairly expensive presents for her birthday but this was definately one of her favourites and as a mother I'm all for encouraging her to read!

4.0 out of 5 stars pretty cool little collection of stories 27 Aug 2010
By bOoKwOrM - Published on Amazon.com
A little disclaimer here. The stories presented in this book maybe a little 'simple' for some adult Doctor Who fans, but that doesn't make this collection any less fun to read.

"Doctor Who Stories" is a collection of....uh....stories, that first were published in various 'Doctor Who Files' books(each focused on a different DW character). This book reprints the following:

The Hero Factor, Stamp of Approval, No Fun At The Fair, The Final Darkness, Taking Mickey, A Dog's Life, Mission to Galacton, Going Off The Rails, Needle Point, Best Friends, Brith of a Legend, The Secret of the Stones, Blind Terror, Disappearing Act, and Speech Day

What is really fun though is that "Disappearing Act" is a Donna Noble story, and is actually a previously unpublished adventure(poor Donna never got a 'Doctor Who Files' book of her own). Fans of the Doctor's enemy the Master should also enjoy "Speech Day", which is a well-written story about how the Master managed to get elected as....well, don't want to spoil too much for you. :)

The book is a really nice hardcover with an attached ribbon bookmark, housed inside a very sturdy slipcase. I'd definitely recommend this to Doctor Who fans.
