I didn't realise this was a BSAC publication when I bought it, but I imagine it's their equivalent of the PADI OW Diver Manual.
As such, I'd be tempted to say it's clearer than the PADI manual and the quality of the diagrams is high. Also, some of the more detailed information is more complete.
If you're learning (or thinking of learning) to dive (with BSAC or PADI) this would be useful book to read and it's also a good refresher if you've a few dives under your belt, but still aren't an expert.
