Absolutely brilliant! The children in reception years with thrive on this wonderful story - lovely alliteration - illustrations are fabulous! My teenage girls have taken this to their charges to amuse them, they love reading this book to them - I have also taken the book to a local school - Reception and Year 1 children love it! What is so wonderful is that it appeals to boys as well as girls - educationally that has to be such a bonus! The underlying craft in the writing includes natural animal behaviour element within a modern world which incorporates an amusing text and illustrations - Thank you!

This is a great picture books and works extremely well on two levels for younger children who just enjoy the disgustingness of the sandwich and for older children who can see clearly the badgers disastrous pursuit of it. I absolutely adore Hannah shaws illustrations you need to look at each page for ages before you get everything out of it,she's a real master of detailed drawing and this pairing works a treat. With a beautifully disgusting twist that works fantastically at story time this is a great read

Both my two and four year old boys love this book and ask for it to be read again and again. the story is quirky (about a badger who keeps trying to get his paws on a sandwich and failing) and the illustrations are great to. it definitely appeals to my elder son's love of disgusting things (the sandwich falls in gloopy slime, gets ridden over and falls in ants). I would highly recommend and will definitely be purchasing as gifts for other children.

A beautiful book, gorgeous pictures, kept my 3 and 8 year old entertained throughout, good length, quite predicable story but with an unexpected ending for the children ;-) yum yum..... would buy for a gift as the illustrations are top notch and this feels like a special book with the badger extra glossy standing out on the cover. 5* love it

my two 5 year olds love the 'disgusting' book! It has really captured their imagination and there is a lot going on in the pictures that they can focus on. Probably not the most settling bedtime story but they love it.

This is a brilliant book that my little grandson loves to hear again and again. He loves all the animals and the use of the phrase 'disgusting'!
