Both Adam Jaworski and Nikolas Coupland are based at the University of Wales, Cardiff in the Centre for Language and Communication within the School of English Studies. Nik Coupland is Head of department, co-founded and co-edits Blackwells Journal of Sociolinguistics
, and Adam is the reviews editor. The Discourse Reader
follows on from and complements their co-edited Sociolinguistics Reader
which was published in 1997 by Macmillan and is selling extremely well and has been widely adopted.
