Aptly named book title 1 April 2009
By HP66 - Published on
Format: Paperback
A large part of digital photography involves post picture taking processing and organization. At least if the objective is to have photographs to enjoy rather than hide in the hard drive. This book offers a cataloging of much of what is available (300 programs) to help the photographer achieve this objective. Instead of searching online and then sifting through advertising hype, you can look up noise reduction software, for example, and get an unbiased description and commentary on the major products that are available for that purpose, including noting those that are considered by many photographers as the standard by which others are judged. It is a very useful way to shop for your image processing, organizing, and presentation tools of the trade.

Best source for photo software info 13 Jan 2012
By Klem - Published on
Format: Paperback
I've been referring to this book for a few years now.Its the best source for describing all the different types of photo software that's out there. Although it needs to be seriously updated, its still a great source book. I've purchased software, because of what I read in this book and I was never disappointed. Again, I hope the author has plans on a updated version. When and if it happens, I'd not hesitate to buy it immediately.

Extensive Software List but with a Notable Omission 26 April 2009
By H. Lee Pratt - Published on
Format: Paperback
This book includes discussions of an extensive list of photographic software, but with at least one surprising omission. Corel Photo-Paint is ignored, even though it has been a major part of the CorelDraw Graphics Suite for over a dozen revisions. The author does include Corel Paint Shop Pro and perhaps has confused the two programs, which are not the same.
