This is the second of these series I have ordered, and while the shows are very good and the recording well re-mastered, they are NOT region 2 as stated. Fortunately I am able to play them, but it is a nuisance remembering to switch the system back to PAL each time.
This is a review of 'The dick van dyke show' - series two: D.V.D. Along with 'I love Lucy' and 'The Phil Silvers Show' this series ranks as one of very best ever of U.S.A comedy shows, so no need for a review/critique except this: 5* + 100* and some more. The region code states: '0' and that's on the sleeve and on each disc. Picture/Sound quality is good: the sleeve states it's been digitally remastered and at R/T of 17.16 hours/1030 minutes and currently well under 5 P's for a NEW item it's a true/total bargain. I've ordered series 0ne as well and aim to obtain all the series eventually. Highly recommended...buy it now!
I'm so pleased this show is now coming out on Region 2. I got hold of the first series 10 years ago in the States after getting hooked watching it on TV Land over there.
The series is really hitting it's stride in this set. It contains the famous 'Walnut' episode and some lovely moments between Rob and Laura - particularly Rob getting jealous when Laura ends up playing Cleopatra in the neighbourhood skit show. One of my favourite episodes is when Rob & Laura overhear Millie & Jerry on the communication system Richie has set up with their son.
Great behind the scenes stuff - including photos, Audio Commentaries and some of the original adverts that the show was used for.
The packaging of the DVD's is handy - all in the same case - although I find it difficult to get them to stay put.
All in all a great watch and fab family entertainment.
