Product Description

A charismatic medical doctor -- and expert in the field -- presents a new, alternative approach to curing Type-2 Diabetes Mellitius, adult onset diabetes, which today is reaching epidemic proportions.

Worldwide, close to 120 million people suffer from diabetes and the World Health Organization estimates that this number will more than double in the next 30 years. In the United States, more than 16 million people have Type-2 diabetes, or non-insulin dependent diabetes (NIDDM), which occurs primarily in adults and results from the body's inability to use the hormone insulin properly. According to Dr. Vern S. Cherewatenko -- and supported by medical studies -- Type-2 diabetes can be effectively treated with a natural compound known as Hydroxycitric acid (HCA), which can slow, stop, or even cure the disease. In combination with a lifestyle change, including healthy eating and light exercise, HCA offers a natural approach, generally with no side effects. Now, following the amazing program offered in The Diabetes Cure, patients may experience results almost immediately, and can come to better understand their disease, control it, and eventually, overcome it altogether. --This text refers to an out of print or unavailable edition of this title.

From the Back Cover

Around the world, 120 million people suffer from type 2 diabetes and the International Diabetes Institute predicts this number will double by 2010.

Type 2 diabetes is caused by a glucose imbalance in the body compounded by lack of exercise and an unhealthy diet and sufferers are usually in an older age group. Many people with a more sedentary lifestyle who often rely on convenience foods find that controlling their weight becomes a problem and this can all too easily lead to type 2 diabetes.

'The Diabetes Cure' is a practical and invaluable lifestyle companion for anybody seeking to combat the effects of type 2 diabetes (also known as non-insulin dependent or age-onset diabetes). The authors also introduce a remarkable and safe herbal supplement, HCA (hydroxycitric acid), a substance found in the brindle berry which can reduce sweet cravings, improve the effectiveness of the body's insulin and help muscles absorb glycogen,

'The Diabetes Cure' provides and excellent and simple exercise regime which builds up from beginners' level as well as vital healthy eating guidelines which focus on complex carbohydrates and a helpful supplementation plan for every sufferer of type 2 diabetes.

Dr Vern S. Cherewatenko, himself a former sufferer of type 2 diabetes, has a clinic specialising in weight loss and diabetes.

Nice update on diabetes, especially compared to older books on the market. I was recently diagnosed as Type 2 and this was part of a voracious education campaign. Author presents a nine point process to take charge. It worked for me, but then diet and exercise are the core of any successful diabetes management program. Main point in this book is the addition of HCA/chromium as a dietary supplement. Does it work? Don't know for sure, but my glucose went from 250 to 125 in two weeks, although I'm still on Glucophage. His case studies are positive. Main thing I got out of the book was: "The cure is better than the disease."

Kudos for writing a book that empahsizes exercise, nutrition, as well as some of the nutritionnal supplements that may help control this devastating disease. There are other supplements that also demonstrate promise. I have applied the principles in this book and used products with HCA, as well as other supplements, with very good success. It is refreshing to see that physicians are finally realizing that there are better ways to handle diabetics than merely flogging a diabetic who is insulin resistant with oral meds and more insulin.

As a family physician who has been involved in academic medicine for 12 years, I salute you.

As an adult-onset diabetic, recently, I have been interested in learning more about what supplements might be helpful. This led me to Dr. Cherewatenko's book, "The Diabetes Cure." It is the best book on diabetes which I have ever read! It is written in a very clear and concise fashion that everyone can understand. The information presented is straight forward and very logical. The author makes you feel that it is more than possible to successfully overcome the dangers of living with diabetes. I highly recommend this book to any and all diabetics who want to begin attacking their disease armed with a great ally - information and knowledge regarding important additional weapons at our disposal.
