Product Description

Jason clung to the wall with no harness pressing himself to the wall and trapping her safely to it.
“Are you okay?” he asked worriedly, seeing her eyes flickering in and out of focus.
“No,” she said, her face turning white.
He could feel her trembling so much and then her arms and legs gave out as she collapsed. Students screamed but Jason took her full weight with him with ease.
“Grab her harness!” shouted the instructor and when nobody moved he lunged for the slack rope himself.
Jason slung her over his shoulder and climbed down to the floor.
“Is she dead?” someone asked.
Jason was busy removing the harness from her and he looked up at the worried look on Chantal’s face.
“Everyone class dismissed!” ordered the instructor trying to get his own heart beat to slow down.
The gym cleared of everyone. Jason took one more look at the wall before closing the door. None saw the indentations in the wall made by his fingers.

Nice story, well told 10 Feb 2012
By Oscar
Format:Kindle Edition
I read this book because it came to me with good recommendations. I have to say this wouldn't be my automatic choice of reading matter. But the author has a compelling storytelling method and an extremely polished writing style. Definitely one of those books you will return to after the initial read. I can think of worse ways to pass a few hours/days.

I can't count the amount of times this books wrote 'and they all laughed' oh the lack of inventiveness! The main characters were so dull! They were such goody two shoes. I think I just pushed through to the end, to see if it got darker. please find a thesaurus!

uneven and slow 14 Feb 2012
By Ann - Published on Amazon.com

I started the book because I was engaged by the opening scene. I continued as Jason seemed such a good guy with great powers. Candice's situation is a disaster and Jason and Nan are loving rescuers. However, the pace is so slow that I couldn't take it any more.
So J&C are sleeping in the same bed but are chaste. He carries her to the bathroom a zillion times, allowing her to do her thing and then carries her back.We really didn't need to know about the toilet usage. And Nan is a great cook. Okay already we get it.
It just doesn't add to the story. Walt's interest in Candice isn't explained in the early part of the book -and since I didn't finish it, I don't know if it ever was.
After about 25% of the book, I bailed. Life is too short to have to slog through a book.

4 Stars But with Reservations 11 Mar 2012
By Barbara Marzec - Published on Amazon.com

I gave this book 4 stars but I do have reservations about it. The story is good as are the characters. And while it is not a clone of the Twilight series, it still reminds me too of much of those books...the biggest thing being the fact that the female head character seems to have a stronger personality than the male. She's also a bit colder than her partner as far as emotions go.

The supporting characters were all excellent. The story so far is quite good and keeps you interested even though you do have to stop now and then and take a break when it drags a bit.

Grammar and sentence structure are well executed except for the word "whilst". The story is not written during a time, nor does it take place during a time, when that word was commonly used. Its frequent presence is a bit off-putting.

All-in-all, though, I enjoyed the book and I look forward to the next installment. I hope it makes its appearance soon.

Sorry, No 17 Feb 2012

For as long as the book was, it moved way too slow. 41 chapters of build-up for something to happen at the END of that last chapter. All I got from the book was that Nan (the grandmother) is a great cook, and the main characters, Jason & Candice, are too good to be true. Loving and forgiving no matter what happens to them. Candice is brutally attacked and forgives the boys who do it immediately, which nixes any interesting conflict that could have contributed to the story. Jason's brother, Tylo, showed too much bad interest in Candice at the beginning of the book, he is sent away immeditely and brought back at the end of the book, again nixing any good conflict. When he does show up again, all is forgiven.

I have to say it again, the story moves extremely slow; how many times do we have to be told Jason carries Candice to the bathroom, Nan is a great cook, that it's time for breakfeast/lunch/dinner? What I really found disconcerting was that it seemed everything was a laughing matter. At the end of every conversation those involved either laughed or chuckled, even if the conversation was serious.

The plot for the story was good, but the execution of the story was horrible. I will not be reading the sequel.
