Brom rarely disappoints and "The Devil's Rose" is one of those books that exude a kind of energy in your hand the moment you pick them up, before you even turn the cover.
The blend of a tale of redemption, lost love and punishment, and an art style that forgoes the frills to create a hauntingly human and psychological world where judgement is black and white, brutal and unrelenting, yet where humanity, hope and perseverance somehow break through.
It's a phenomenally moving book, highly recommended for anybody who loved Brom's "Plucker" or any other of his works. Definitely something to treasure for the future.
