Extremely interesting 17 Jun 2009
Format:Paperback
I bought this book for my boyfriend, who is a trainee barrister.

I also have a legal background and decided to read it.

It is simply a brilliant book and is applicable to careers far beyond the bar.

The instruction may be focused on barristers, but the principles behind the instructions are applicable to any field.

I would thoroughly recommend this book.

From the outset, Morley states that the approach is practical drawing upon his admirable experience as an advocate without any discussion of the theoretical bases. This is a rough and ready, but absolutely authorative guide or handbook to advocacy - the dos and the don'ts.

Do not let the page count decieve, the book is highly accessable, does not waste space and is written wholely in bulletpoint form.

This can also function as a quick reference to all topics covered in depth by Richard du Cann's 'Art of the Advocate'.

As a law student, I don't think I could have found a better guide to advocacy. I'd recommend it to anyone who ever has to do a moot, speak in court, or simply make a presentation.

It's advice is as relevant to an experienced lawyer, as it is to a law student or average joe who wants to learn to be as persuasive in their presentations as possible.
