1.0 out of 5 stars Only hate the Kindle version 20 May 2014
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
The last 2 in this series are great and i love getting these off the shelf for inspiration as well as coming across some really useful sites. The problem is the Kindle version is absolutely pointless! Unless you want to click on every link to the showcase site.

The problem is that in the kindle version the images are very small and when you enlarge them to view they are blurred due to low resolution! This makes the kindle version useless as an idea book as you cant see any detail.

I have contacted Amazon for a refund so i can get the paper back.

5.0 out of 5 stars This book was worth the wait! 20 April 2013
By Holly Harris - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback|Verified Purchase
As a Graphic and Website Designer I wanted a quick resource to flip through for inspiration. I thought I would only glean a few ideas but as I flipped through each page my mind began to swim with ideas...before I knew it, I had created an art board with at least 20 new color ways and dozens of flagged websites to visit. This book has proven itself invaluable, especially in the dawn of the responsive website design era. I can't wait to create my own unique designs from the inspiration this book provided.

5.0 out of 5 stars Another great volume! 28 Mar 2013
By TexasAggie - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback|Verified Purchase
This is my third purchase in this series, and they keep getting better. What's really neat now is that I have all three on the shelf and it's like a time warp into the past... so much of web design has changed. It provides very unique perspective - almost a chronicle of design over time. I hope they keep making new volumes. Will be amazing in ~10 years to look back. Also, I hope they keep the same size/format so they look good on the shelf. :)

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Book full of Awesome Ideaas 16 Jan 2014
By Ravenous Raven Design - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback|Verified Purchase
I'm a real web designer, who is posting a real review. I'm Heather Wood, of Ravenous Raven Design. I have purchased all 3 web designer idea books. They are very helpful in giving me inspiration when I can't find any. As a web designer, I don't always want to stare at a computer screen to find inspiration, so a book I can flip thru is great. I also take it along with me to client meetings in order to get a feel for what kind of website they want. Clients like flipping thru the book to show you what they like :)

5.0 out of 5 stars Mind = Blown 9 Jan 2014
By Thesouthtide - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback|Verified Purchase
I bought this book as inspiration for the visual design aspect of web design. This book hardly talks about code at all, which is great because there are already a myriad of books, and free websites, from which you can learn code. This book is about showing as many creative examples of web design as possible, from elaborate to minimal, to inspire you to create a unique design. This is more like and art book than a technical one, which again is why I love it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Incredibly Inspirational! 8 April 2013
By bluetidepro - Published on Amazon.com

I have all the books in the "The Web Designer's Idea Book" series by Patrick McNeil, and I love them all. They are always very well written, and composed. The book is a must-have for any designer who sometimes just needs a burst of inspiration or too look up specific UI elements from others that are "doing it right". I would recommend this book to anyone in the web design world.
