Fantastic read! Age is not an issue, Robin reaches out and provides entertainment for all ages!

This book is fantastic, and would recommend it to anyone. Written with such style and precision (aided by the amazing illustrations!), the reader can visualise every scene and every character with ease! An emotional rollercoaster at times, this book can not be ignored! Go and buy it now, although I warn you....... once you start reading his books, you won't be able to stop! :)

This book is one of the best I have ever read! Robin Jarvis does not stray into any of the cliches which fill the Redwall books, and the narrative flows beautifully and fluently. The plot is gripping, and I guarantee you will not be able to put this book down.

My favourite book of childhood
This is a must read book for adolescents. I fell in love with this book when I was 8 years old and read it so often the spine is only just holding together. Read more

not for the faint hearted
I love Robin Jarvis. When you get to that awkward age where your not quite ready for adult books but far too old for childrens books he came along and filled the gap! Read more

Depressingly bleak at times
Robin Jarvis has a great talent, but I'm not entirely certain about how he uses it. This isn't an easy read, and although it's a good book for slightly older readers, those of you... Read more

This is by far the best Robin Jarvis book out of them all!!! I really think it deserves a better rating than the 4 stars some readers gave it! Read more

Gripping story but not for cat lovers!
This is a great story but I do have to say that anyone who is sentimental about animals should stay clear. It actually made me wonder about Robin Jarvis's state of mind.

Excellent, but read the Deptford Mice first
The Deptford Histories are also a great Jarvis read but are a little harder to get into than the Deptford Mice. Read the Oaken Throne and Thomas afterwards (in that order). Read more
