James Baldwin had agreed to write the forward of the French version of this novel. He thought it was indubitably "dark". The Demented Dance is to "White" French literature what "African-American" literature is to "White" North American culture. This book is also a tribute to James Baldwin.
About the Author
He is the author of four other novels including The Cities Ashes, awarded the Laureate de la Bourse du centre National du Livre; Journeys of Souls, winner of the Prix de lAstrolabe Ettonats Voyageurs. He has had work published in the UK, in the anthologies XCiTes: The Flamingo Book of New French writing and Le Foot; The Legends of French Football. He has written a number of plays one of which starred Samy Naceri who went on to work with Luc Besson. He has released three albums with Indy Label Disques Motors .
The Demented Dance received the Prix Malek Haddad-Fondation Noureedine Aba , The Prix France-Maghreb Afrique Meditterrannee and the Prix Radio Beur.
