'Be careful listening to this debut pipebomb from Manc five-piece Profane. In just one song you'll be plunged through enough musical changes to sustain a lesser band through a whole album. But this isn't sonic hooliganism for its own sake; Profane's attention-deficit-rock is pitched perfectly for the emotional content of each track, and their ideas are uniformly fascinating: full-tilt lunging metal, soaring grunge, detuned jazzcore - it all makes blissful (non)sense when you give them the chance to take you on their journey. Great to hear a UK band pursuing their own vision rather than apeing more successful blueprints to the future.' Kerrang April 2006. KKKK
'vocalist Phil Bretnall is equally adept at metal snarls as he is at the most angelic crooning. Guitarist Luke Bhatia and the rest of Profane back him up with intricate jazzy riffs that compliment the melody of the vocals swapping effortlessly between real hardcore anger, progressive metal and chilled out funk.This is a debut of stellar proportions for a band that deserve proper recognition.' 8/10 Metal Hammer -March 2006

Any lovers of hardcore/metalcore need to hear this album, and they are a must see live band. These guys seriously know what they are doing, and as the last reviewer stated do not follow a trend.
The album as a whole gets a resounding 5 stars from me, and the future looks very bright. The gig they did with Life of Agony was outstanding :)

I get the feeling this album is just a taste of the great things to come from this band.Despite the album only being fairly short you are given a taste of so many twists and turns that its hard to pidgeon hole Profane...which is surely a good thing.This album has everything, full steam ahead metal tracks to beautifully constructed mellower efforts and sometimes mixing both,and more,in one song!! Even the odd "jazzy" moment..awesome vocals and gutair melodies,insane drumming,beautiful baselines.....These are surely a UK band going places without copying any recent trends......You need to buy this........I was More than pleasently suprised........
