I am really enjoying this book. I have visited Niagara Falls several times and know some of the places mentioned in the book. It is interesting finding out some of the history of Niagara as well as an interesting love story.

Wonderful debut novel 17 Feb 2011
Format:Paperback|Amazon Verified Purchase
In reality I have never been to Niagara Falls, it is on my list of places I want to see, but in my mind I have been thanks to Cathy Marie Buchanan. From the very first page of her novel her descriptive narrative makes you feel like you are there. I really enjoyed this captivating love story and along the way learnt a lot about the history of the Falls themselves. The addition of photographs was inspiring. I look forward to reading more by this author.

Stunning! 18 April 2010
Format:Paperback
On the final night of school term, Bess Heath discovers she will not be returning to Loretta Academy for her last year.

Beth returns to Glenview, her family home, to discover her father has lost his job at the Niagara Power Company, the house maids have gone and her mother dressmaking to keep the family afloat. Isabel also seems a different person from the sister she knew

A lot of the families' financial problems could be solved if Bess accepts a marriage proposal from the son of a wealthy family, but her heart lies with Tom Cole, a man with a natural gift of knowing the Niagara river like the back of his hand

The character of Tom Cole is based on William "Red"Hill, Niagara's famous river man, in the 19th/ 20th century. Also at this time Hydro Powerhouses came into operation and feature strongly in the story.

This story is stunning! A powerful love story combined with the history of the magical Niagara Falls.
