A sudden, unprovoked attack on Jackie’s life heralds the start of a full-scale mob war which has clearly been orchestrated by some outside force. The Darkness 2 breaks out of the sea of conventional first-person shooters with its fervid Quad-Wielding gameplay, which will allow players to slash, grab, and throw objects and enemies with their Demon Arms while simultaneously firing two weapons. If you have been bored by FPS games as of late, then this game is for you.
It does almost everything right, the combat is amazing, you are given a multitude of powers, you can execute people to regain health, ammo, or power, you can throw black holes, you can channel dark energy through your guns, you can throw bodies and foreign objects at enemies. The game just does a fantastic job at making you feel powerful.
The Story is one of the best I have seen in a game, not as good as the first game, but considering how good the first game was, that is nothing to be ashamed of. It is still one of the best written and directed video games I have ever played. It makes you feel for the characters, you get to know little subtleties about them without even realising.
This game might not be for everyone. But if you are into fast paced energetic fun shooters. Or an emotional engaging immersive story. Then this game is for you.
The only shortfall of the game really is it's length. Which comes out at around 6 or 7 hours. But fear not, the game also has a separate co-op campaign mode which you can play online with 4 other people, or on your own. Which easily adds a few more hours onto the play time. There is also a new game plus mode.

Basic information first: The Darkness 2 is the sequel to the critically-acclaimed 2007 release, The Darkness, and features an original story by acclaimed comic writer Paul Jenkins.
I played the original and enjoyed it and when I saw there was a sequel coming out I downloaded the demo and was impressed. Then the game was bought for me and I love it, there is the single player campaign and there is also a "Vendetta" campaign mode where you can play as one of four Darkness infused characters, e.g. a Scottish character who can throw an axe into enemies and then recall it to his hand. There is a Japanese character who uses a Katana and I wont say the rest as it will spoil it. Each character has a special darkness power that can be used and then you wait for it to recharge, each character also has their own "Talents" or skill trees which you can upgrade with "Essence" which you gain from killing enemies, be it execution style or with various weapons.
The Vendetta missions can be played solo or online with 3 other people or played with a friend locally.
Now, for the game itself, the Limited Edition includes:

The game play is just like the first, with only a few new added features, so if you liked the first game then you'll still love this. The only really bad thing I've got to say about it is that as a game it's just SOOOOOO short! It starts then after about 4 levels it's over!

The Darkness 2 plays completely different than its predecessor. A more linear, stylized and gruesome package come together, legs akimbo with 4 arms of doom.
The game is most certainly better and more bold than the first game.
To sum up this package:
- Good Campaign (Approx 6-8 Hours ) In Length, with New Game + Feature! Also features multiple endings!
- Vendettas Co-Op Campaign (4-5 Hours) and Hit-list Stand Alone Missions : Includes a Co-Op campaign that can be played online, but not split screen! However, if you are a social recluse like me, you can play both Vendettas and certain missions of the hit list by yourself as 1 of 4 characters!
- Stylized comic book graphics bring the world to life, and feels more akin to the original comics than Star-breezes rendition of the first game.
- Use of powers while duel wielding combinations of weapons is a blast!
- NO COMPETITIVE MULTI-PLAYER, only Co-Op modes.
Overall, its a great FPS game that I was quite surprised with. If you didn't like the original, don't be put off and give it ago. It really is a good FPS treat with good incentive to replay the various campaigns in order to max out characters and do the choices you didn't do the first time round (Also easy platinum trophy game if you like trophies).

It's a good game and funny at some parts but campaign is a bit to short for my liking and it feels like you are doing the same thing on every mission but The best thing about the game is Vendetta and hit list mode on online co-op where i had fun for hours playing with freinds
