This is the kind of ambient music that really floats my boat. Relaxing but definitely not easy listening, it combines the eeriness of 70s Tangerine Dream with modern Orb-like production values and trippy basslines. The creepy vocoder vocals on the first track are particularly, and wonderfully, strange. I will definitely be looking into other CDs from this series!

the best of the lot 29 Aug 2004

This is by far the best of the entire sceries. If you are looking for more of that fantastic namlook beat and bass youll find it here. Im one of the biggest laswell fans around and i have all the dark moogs and even the ones that feature laswell arent as good as this entire album. Features some long extremely long songs, recorded live with klause i think in germany. This one features more down tempo dub style with some of the best samples. I like the more ambient moog stuff but nothing compares to 2 people live with an awesome beat, bass, vocoder, and analog synth madness. No one can controle a synth like namlook and klause. Next fav. has to be 9 if you can find it, then 5, 6, 7, 4. You can download all of the from emusic.com these cds are limited to 1,000 and 2,000 copies. enjoy the future

As a long-time music aficionado, as well as a long time Namlook follower, I have to say that this is some of the best work to date. The contribution of Schulze's powerful melodies put this disc on par with the best (at times heart-aching), however, it's Namlook's electronic nuances which fully support this work. A timeless classic.

Not bad at all , but still 7 Sep 2006
By J. Franken - Published on Amazon.com

I havent heard all of the other DsotM albums so i cant compare this album to the others. I can however compare this album to other ambient/dub albums available. Overall the albums starts out pretty good, but by the second track the overall use of comb filters on the voices just dont do it for me. It sounds very dated and i cannot listen to most of the tracks where this filter is used (which is almost all tracks except for number 1).

also they tend to over-use the same synthesizer patch on the album which makes one feel like you are listening to some mad performer on his Synthesizer. Its not bad , but when it starts sounding like improvisational Jazz being played on a Synth it gets a bit much and i have to skip to the next track.

Personally i still like the album, but would rather spend my money on something else unless you want to collect the whole series of these albums.
