Product Description

Product Description

Untold Mideast presents long-form nonfiction that reveals Israelis and Palestinians as you don't see them in regular news reports or conventional nonfiction. Matt Rees, former Time Magazine Jerusalem bureau chief, a Mideast correspondent since 1996, and an award-winning crime novelist, investigates the neglect of mentally ill Holocaust survivors that resulted from corruption, politics, and shame. He tells the story of how three young psychiatrists changed the way an entire nation viewed these forgotten victims of the Nazis.

5.0 out of 5 stars A real Psychological Thriller 4 May 2012

This is the second journalism piece I've read by Rees and it may just top the first. Reminiscent of the fine work by Avishai Margalit on the ethics of memory, this is a gripping tale of what it means to remember -- or try to forget.
