This is simply the best book I have read by Judith Lennox. I discovered this authour after my mother lent me 'Shadow Child' which I thought was a really good read. I then read 'Footprints in the Sand' which was yet better. But after reading 'The Dark-eyed Girls' I will have to say that it was truly the better out of the three. The way Lennox follows the lives of the three individual girls is simply enchanting and not a dull moment once. I could not put this book down and found myself reading it whenever I had even a spare five mins!
What I truly enjoy about Lennox's writing is the amazing build-up to the climax which finishes off the story beautifully.
This book is a tremendous read and I thoroughly recommend it.

After reading the Shadow Child by Judith Lennox, I went straight out and bought her new one the Dark-eyed Girl's, and I was not disappointed. A tale of three girl's growing up in the 1970's the girl's are from totally different back ground's but through their friendships they are entwined together, and are forced to come to terms with the harsh reality of growing up and everyday life. The tragedy that brings them together and then separates them, haunts both the girl's that are left behind but through determination and friendship they eventually find out the truth. Another great read by Judith Lennox, don't miss out!

Liked this book - it's well written with a fairly energetic story but a bit 'you knew what was going to happen' quality about it.
Nevertheless it's quite emotional with intriguing characters and well worth a read.
