5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome! 16 Dec 2003
By A Customer
Format:DVD
This is not some old 'has-been' band going through the motions but a vital band giving an entertaining, and sometimes humourous performance. If you like the Damned you'll love this DVD. If you like good music you'll really enjoy this DVD. It has it all - 60's psychodelia on keyboards similar to electric prunes, punk rock, pop-punk (song.com), goth, Elvis, Pink Floyd-ism, great guiatar solos, comedy - even has a monkey playing on 'Smash it up'! Also is the great DVD extras and interviews with the band. VERY HIGHLY RECOMMENDED to all alternative rock, punk rock, pop-punk, and other discerning music lovers.
This is what a good concert should be like. It has all the elements - great sound, banter, audience participation, even some comedy.
The DVD is worth it's price just for the live version of "Under the Floor Again" - Captain is a premier guitarist. Also, Dave Vanian is the best vocalist out there - also known as the 'Dark Elvis'.
Grab a few pints and sit down and watch this DVD. It'll make you want to go find out when they are playing next. Since they tour constantly you have a good chance of seeing them! Don't wait though as Captain says he needs the money now!

5.0 out of 5 stars EXCELLENT LIVE PERFORMANCE FROM THE DAMNED 22 Nov 2003
By A Customer
Format:DVD
Having seen the Damned live a couple of times in the very early eighties, I bought this dvd on the off chance it may be half decent..I certainly wasn't disappointed.
Not only is the band alot tighter now (their early gigs were always fun, but a bit shambolic) but they still put the same energy into their performance. They really look as though they're enjoying themselves on stage.
New songs, which I hadn't heard before, such as Amen and Democracy are a match for the old classics like Neat, Neat, Neat, Love Song etc...the band is still sounding as fresh as ever.

5.0 out of 5 stars Damned Damned Damned - Superb 31 Jan 2004
By A Customer
Format:DVD
Just for you - heres THE DAMNED. Well what a surprise an absolutly brilliant performance after buying this for old times sake I had to get off my backside and experience the real thing and I can tell you this band are without doubt the best live band on the circuit at the moment. If you don't believe me just invest in this DVD you won't be disappointed.
As vital and fresh as they were in 77 The Damned live are a mix of old skool Punk, Goth with a sprinkling of pure Rock and Roll. Vanian is an awesome frontman and I had forgotten that Sensible is such a brilliant guitarist.
What can I say just buy the DVD and enjoy the ultimate band live and loud!
