Format: Audio CD
By the time the band split in 2002, the metallic hardcore Vision of Disorder excelled at had been tempered by the southern-tinged, Alice in Chains-esque melodies of their final album, "From Bliss to Devastation". Eleven years later, reconvened and reanimated, VOD have returned with their fifth album which provides a welcome trip down memory lane.

Taking direction more from their self-titled debut and follow-up "Imprint" (a frankly fantastic album) than the aforementioned "From Bliss...", this is a furiously angry record that carefully melds caustic riffs and savage breakdowns with Tim Williams' outstanding vocals. His bark is more potent than ever ("Loveless", "Hard Times" and "The Enemy"), and the smattering of clean vocals match up in true Staley fashion, notably on the attractively named "Skullz Out (Rot in Pieces)". Throw in the elastic groove of Mike Fleischmann's bass, and the solid hardcore rhythms of Brendon Cohen and what you have is a band who have returned to the fold back at their best.

Returning bands don't always supply the goods again, but in this instance VOD have returned energised and still relevant, it's good to have them back.

I'm so glad that this band came back and with an album as relentless as their live shows, favourite tracks are Loveless and the awesome Hard Times. All the albums these guys have done have a slightly different style/sound but they are all great and best played loud.

If you like aggressive energy filled rock/metal/hardcore and you don't know this band you really should check this band out.

Vision Of Disorder - The Cursed Remain Cursed would be a quality addition to any metalcore/hardcore fans collection. A vicious return.
