Book Description

Shelley is thirteen, a bookworm and accident prone. Whilst on a school trip with her best friend Katie, her whole life is turned upside down as curiosity grips her and she is thrust into the weird world of Reflections. Lost in an unusual, yet increasingly familiar landscape filled with dangers, Shelley tries to make sense of the odd creatures and bizarre circumstances which brought her there. She soon has to stop thinking and start running, however, when 'The Hunter' appears. An evil overlord, he and his Razzard Wolves will stop at nothing to capture her. Can new-found friend Kevin help her? Or will she take advice from the mysterious 'Voice from the Void'? She must find her way home, somehow, or stay imprisoned in this strange world forever.

5.0 out of 5 stars Imagination in spades 23 April 2012
Format:Kindle Edition
What a wonderful story. It combines great descriptive writing with fast pace and liberal doses of humour. A tremendous amount of imagination has gone into the plot and setting. Fantastic twist at the end, too. Met the author at a book signing - lovely fella. A lot of talent and deserved success.

5.0 out of 5 stars a gripping read 11 April 2012

I am not really into fantasy but I'm glad I tried this book, it took me on an action packed ride that was full on. The pace in itself was constant, fast . the characters were believable and I began to care what happened to them. Although it was written for children adults will relate to the story and the humour used. As a teacher I will recommend this to our class as an example of good descriptive text, and I'm sure they will continue to read the adventure to the end.

5.0 out of 5 stars Absolutely Magical 15 Nov 2010
Format:Paperback
The first edition of Colin R Parson's `Curious World' series is one of the best fantasy books I've read in a long while. It has all of the breath taking suspense of The Lord of the Rings trilogy but mixes in the page-turning fun of newer novels like the Power of Five series by Anthony Horowitz. Believe me, if you like Harry Potter or The Spiderwick Chronicles the then this is definitely the adventure for you. It's fast, funny and leaves you wanting more. You will not be disappointed, whatever age you are.

5.0 out of 5 stars pure adventure at its best 2 April 2012
Format:Paperback|Amazon Verified Purchase
after reading the excellent "wizards kingdom" trillogy, this title did not dissapoint. the characters, monsters and places are so real and come alive. the names fit them perfectly and there is always something happening as you go through the story, which is never boring. the story for each location, village and people come to life and tie in with the whole story, which is exciting and enjoyable. there are a lot of tense moments and what you think are dead ends, until that little bit of magic occurs and slowly the evil fades and that little bit of light at the end of the tunnel is there and they pull through and the adventure continues. these are the ups and downs which make a good adventure story, in which you can lose yourself in and its easy to get back into after a break, which is why i like the chapters being short. a total enjoyable reading and have already got his next book "the curious world of katey hinge" which follows on from this.
