Product Description

Review

"Looking for a new method for murder (literary of course)? Then this may be the book for you. Wynn has arranged it in encyclopedic fashion, beginning with Accidents (contrived) and working through various types of poisons, blunt instruments, and stabbing until ending up with Throat - cutting. Each of the sections is carefully subdivided for ease of use. . . . Wynn next supplies a second alphabetical list (Adipocere to Voice prints); this time about methods of detection. This amounts to a mini course in crime scene investigation and evidence processing. Finally there is a section on "other aspects of crime" including bits on police procedure and certain peculiarities of the UK legal system. Again, real life examples are offered. There is a bibliography of non-fiction works and an index. An interesting and useful addition to the reference shelf." -- Reviewingtheevidence.com

Product Description

Crime writers commit murder in print. This book shows writers how they can do it, explaining what the victim and the murder scene will look like afterwards, and what clues will give the game away. Chapters on police procedures in the UK, what happens in the courtroom and post mortems will help lend a convincing authority to every writer's work.

First Sentence
The other day I was talking to a serving policeman, who is also a devotee of crime fiction, and he said that he was astonished at the lack of elementary knowledge of police procedure in a book he had been reading by an established novelist. Read the first page

A comprehensive ABC of how to kill off your characters. Includes methods of murder, and methods of detection to ensure you definitely know what you're talking about when you poison a favourite uncle with belladonna, or deliver a swift karate chop to the front of a spy's neck (in print, of course!)Clearly and concisely written, a method a page, this is a value-for-money book you'll never regret adding to your bookshelves.

A life of crime? 21 April 2010
This little book is a must for anyone embarking on a life of crime, or a life of crime-writing even. All the facts are there leaving you free to think up gruesome ends for your victims and correct procedures for your 'tecs to follow or not, as the case may be.

How to Kill Off Anybody 5 Nov 2000
By Teraisa J. Goldman - Published on Amazon.com
Must have book for any writer of fictional crime. I bought this to help me understand the five deaths of my True Crime book victims--amazing! Great resource, easy to read and makes perfect sense.

This book not only explains the methods and the effects, but attempts to give every way of death a real life example.

If you are interested, this book also delves into forensic science information and other methods of detection.

I reccommend this book also to detectives in training.
