This is an excellant book on the craft of quilling, or paper filigree, as it is also known. The introduction includes a BRIEF,but interesting history of this anceint art. The book is suitable for the beginner and experienced quiller alike, since it includes a section on necessary materials, equipment and how to start quilling, as well as first projects and more advanced projects.Included in the book are patterns for special occasions, such as baptisms and weddings and festivals, such as Easter and Christmas. Projects include a variety of cards,Christmas decorations,a wedding horseshoe and a Christening or wedding bonbonniere and there are many more ideas on how to use your quilling skills. Colour photographs illustate each project. Instructions are clear throughout. My only disappointment was that the beautiful gold filigree cross photographed on the front cover does not include a pattern explaining how to make it within the book. However, there is a pattern for a more basic, but still attractive cross for use on a First Communion or condolence card. I will certainly get my monies worth out of this book. Highly recommended for those who need ideas and inspiration with their quilling.

I particularly didnt like this book.I thought I would get practical ideas and it's far from it. I am a quiller, but there is nothing in the book I would like to reproduce. I dont think is a good book for beginner either. Sorry.

Don't waste your money! 29 Dec 2005
By Carrie Beth - Published on Amazon.com

You may be tempted by the gorgeous gold cross on the cover, only to study the book for hours without finding it. That's from one of Malinda Johnston's wonderful books, but Ms. Wilson doesn't even have the courtesy to acknowledge that. That's a perfect example of what this book is like ... Yuck! There are some absolutely awesome quilling books available nowadays (and most, if not all, are right here on Amazon). Don't waste your money on this one!

I ordered and paid for The Craft of Quilling on December 6 and I have not received the book or a refund. I sent an e-mail to the seller and still have not had a response. I will not be doing business with anyone on Amazon again.
